I was in church over the weekend and I was listening to the deacon’s sermon. He was speaking about how he was once involved in a group where everyone anonymously evaluated everyone else. He was surprised to find out that his peers thought of him very differently than he thought of himself. Almost to opposite extremes as a matter of fact.

My Own WordPress Theme

What you are looking at is a WordPress theme designed by me. I call it Kaman (I’ll let you figure out what it means) and I’m pretty excited about it. You could say it is a bit simple, but it was fun creating it. I would like it to be more and over time I’m sure I will find new way of doing things that will make it better.

Radical Simplicity

Recently, I finished reading a series of books by Daniel Quinn (Ishmael, My Ishmael and The Story of B). These are the most profound books I have ever read and each takes a different approach to teaching the history of how we “got to where we are.” The problem is, these books are so important to me that I do not want to do a simple report on the books and walk away. These books are so important to me that I want to take some time to really get a handle on what they truly mean to me and how I will do and view things differently going forward.

Jerry has taken the concept of evolution, which is so complex and so deeply contested between the religious and scientific worlds, and presented it in an easily understood and convincing manner.
