The Beginning of a Journey

Not that today marks the beginning of this journey, but the stress of what is to come has built to a point where I simply needed to start writing. I will be writing about our journey over the next few weeks. It is a journey of business, of family adventure, of new experiences, of significant personal growth. This is our 2009 summer vacation.
Dreams Require Constant Tweaking

Many times we set a goal or dream we would like to achieve, then when something changes, we abandon the dream thinking it wasn’t meant to be. You have to realize that sometimes when you state a dream, you haven’t really thought it through 100%. Sometimes it takes the process of time and change to figure out what the achievement of that dream really looks like. Sometimes new information necessitates a new approach. It may not be exactly what you thought it would be, but it is still your dream.
Lastest Costa Rica Design

We have been working on the design for our future Costa Rica home for some time. It changes constantly and this is the latest that we have. I have shadowed the model with what I believe to be a noon time sun during the “winter” months of the year. That is, when the sun is lowest in the sky. As you can tell, that’s still pretty high.

Lately, I have been going through the concept of S.M.A.R.T. goals. There are several previous posts on this subject, so if you missed any, you may want to go back and read those. We have touched on Specific and Measurable so far, and today I want to talk about the “A” in S.M.A.R.T.
Make Your Goals Measureable

In Be Specific About Your Dreams, I introduced you to the S.M.A.R.T. goal concept in which I explained that your goals and dreams have to be Specific, Measureable, Action-oriented, Reasonable, and Time-oriented. I also went into detail about the first – Specific. Today, I want to talk about Measureable.
Never Settle
Posted by kyle in children, dreams, kids, marriage
Be willing to take that step and never regret it no matter what happens.
Maybe you got married and had kids, then the marriage turned sour. Don’t dwell on the bad marriage, rejoice in that fact that that marriage blessed you with wonderful children. If you didn’t have children, rejoice in the fact that you now know what not to do or who not to do it with the next time. Learn from the experience. As an aside, if you are in a bad marriage and have kids, you can still go after your dream of finding true love.
